Fashion is one of the most destructive and wasteful industries, but it doesn't need to be this way.

At Tomoto, our mission is to design high quality clothing that minimises our impact on the environment and ensure that workers are treated fairly.

That’s why we've sourced our latest series from Continental Clothing’s award-winning EarthPositive® range. Produced exclusively from 100% Indian organic cotton and certified with GOTS, this climate neutral collection is among the most progressive sustainable clothing on Earth.

It all starts with a seed; non-GMO, pesticide-free and planted by hand.

Organic farming protects workers, their families and local ecosystems from toxic chemicals normally used in cotton production.

The farms that grow our cotton have been established in a region of western India with plenty of monsoon rainfall to avoid depleting local water sources.

After harvesting, the organic cotton is processed and made into garments in an ultra-modern factory in Tamil, India.

The factory runs entirely on renewable energy, powered by solar and wind.

This combination of low-impact farming and green energy production results in a 90% reduced carbon footprint. This saves around 7kg of Co2 for every t-shirt made, and a hoodie saves up to 28kg of greenhouse gases.

Waste water is also cleansed through a closed-loop purification process, without damaging nearby water systems.

When the clothes are ready to send to us in the UK, they are dispatched with a 'No Air-Freight' policy, transported instead via ocean shipping with near zero carbon emissions.

Goods are packaged in biodegradable PVC-free packaging and in 100% recycled
post-consumer cardboard boxes.

Our designs are printed onto each item of clothing by our printing partners – a family run business and living wage employer.

Water based inks are used for our entire collection, resulting in a smooth and durable print that's easy on the environment.

Instead of printing stock in bulk, we have recently transitioned to a print-on-demand model. Goods are printed once an order is placed, in an effort to reduce waste and dead stock.

We are working on a process to reuse or recycle any returned items with a target of achieving zero waste.

Orders are sent with Royal Mail and packaged in sturdy FSC-certified paper mailers that can be easily reused, recycled or composted.

We advise our customers to protect the climate by washing Tomoto clothing on a cool 30°c cycle and hang drying.

Our 100% organic cotton fabrics can be recycled and are fully biodegradable.
