Bamboo viscose is a regenerated cellulose fibre made from bamboo.

The fabric feels soft, lightweight and breathable making it ideal to wear as a base layer. Our bamboo t-shirts help to wick moisture from the body, regulate temperature and stay fresh for longer with naturally antibacterial properties. The fabric also protects from UV rays and the soft texture provides a safe and comfortable fabric for sensitive skin.

Growing bamboo is great for the environment as it thrives naturally without the need for pesticides and is extremely efficient at absorbing carbon from the atmosphere and turning it into oxygen. Bamboo is also one of the fastest growing plants and can be harvested regularly, meaning it is naturally sustainable.

While the cultivation of bamboo is great for the environment and local communities, the process of transforming raw bamboo into a viscose is chemical intensive. This can be harmful to areas where waste chemicals are disposed of irresponsibly, however our supplier assures us the process is done in a closed loop cycle - this means the water is resused with very little waste.

We are looking into greener processes, but in the meantime we are confident that our bamboo items are a step in the right direction for a more sustainable future.

Organic cotton is cotton that has been grown with low-impact farming and processed ethically and responsibly with respect for workers and the environment. The end result produces a high-quality fabric that is safe and soft on your skin.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the world, but it’s also the most chemical-intensive, using huge amounts of harmful pesticides. These are among the most toxic chemicals and can have devastating effects - local ecosystems can be destroyed and thousands of farmers die from exposure to these chemicals every year.

Of the entire cotton industry, less than 1% is certified as organic.

Look out for GOTS and OCS certifications to ensure that your cotton has been grown in a responsible way that makes a positive impact. It’s better for the environment, it's safer for the workers and it’s much better for your skin too!
